LA PEPA FILMS
La Pepa PC S.L. is a newly established company founded by Álvaro Alonso and Manuel Yebra in Seville.
Their debut Project, the comedy film "Operación Camarón," originated and developed by La Pepa Films, was entirely shot in Andalusia. The film featured collaboration with Telecinco Cinema-Mediaset and was distributed by Disney-Buenavista. It premiered on June 24, 2021, on 600 screens, claiming the top spot at the box office. Its television debut garnered a 19.4% audience share and 2.5 million viewers, making it the most-watched film on Spanish open TV in 2 years. Directed by Carlos Theron, one of Spain's most successful directors in recent times, and starring Julián López and Natalia de Molina.
In 2022, La Pepa PC S.L. participated in the production of the film "Te Estoy Amando Locamente," directed by Alejandro Marín and produced by Escándalo Films, Escac Estudio, Zeta Studios, and La Pepa Films. The film, featuring Ana Wagener, Omar Banana, and Alba Flores, among others, premiered in June 2023 to critical acclaim and a warm reception from the audience, enjoying over 4 months in theaters.
They are currently in pre-production for their third feature film, "Sin Instrucciones," a project initiated by La Pepa Films in co-production with Basque Films, with the participation of Atres Media Cine, Netflix, and Warner. The film will be directed by Marina Seresesky.
Presently, La Pepa Films has agreements to develop and produce an English-language series for Sony Pictures TV U.K., a feature film for ATRESMEDIA Cine, and an original project for Netflix.
He graduated in Audiovisual Communication from the University of Seville in 1994 and completed the European Master in Audiovisual Management (MEGA) in Ronda, Malaga, in 1999.
Founding partner of the production company Letra M. Coordinated the collective project CINEXIN, which brought together a new generation of Andalusian film talents.
In the year 2000, he/she founded JALEO FILMS, with which he/she has produced more than twenty feature films, launching new talents such as Chiqui Carabante, Paco Cabezas, Chus Ponce, Paco León, Alberto Sánchez, as well as participating in films by renowned directors such as Carlos Saura or Eliseo Subiela..., participating in international co-productions with more than 15 countries, and winning awards at festivals such as: VENICE ("La Zona" by Rodrigo Pla), BERLIN ("Hemel" by Sacha Polak), ROTTERDAM ("Il Futuro" by Alicia Sherson), SAN SEBASTIAN - Golden Shell ("Entre Dos Aguas" by Isaki Lacuesta).
He was president of the Platform of Entrepreneurs and Creators of Andalusian Audiovisual from 2004-2006, a period in which the first and only framework agreement with local public TV, Canal Sur (RTVA), was signed.
In 2010, he was nominated as “Producer on the Move” within the European Film Promotion program for the Cannes Film Festival.
Graduated in Business Administration from Pace University, New York, in 1997. He completed the European Master in Audiovisual Management (MEGA) program in Ronda, Málaga, in 2001.
He worked at FILMAX, Barcelona, in International Marketing, International Sales, and International Production. He participated in 13 feature films developed, produced and commercialized by FILMAX, with 10 of them being shot in English and featuring an international cast (including Christian Bale, Ben Kingsley, Woody Harrelson, Gary Oldman, Timothy Hutton, Calista Flockhart, Emily Mortimer, Jennifer Jason Leigh…) sold worldwide, some of them distributed theatrically in the U.S.
Subsequently, he established his own agency, Cienfuegos Films & Management, specializing in representing directors, remake rights, content development, and packaging projects with a commercial focus.
